Fishing Report 5/10/14 (far out in the little boat)

Saturday evening I talked to my friend Mike and we planned to leave the beach around 6:30am. Well, I woke up at 6:00 and checked the surf and it looked a little too rough for a beach launch so we decide to scrub the mission. I then went back to bed and woke up at 8:00. The surf was a little smaller so I called mike and we decided to give it a shot. We got the boat all geared up and pushed off the beach around 9:00 crashing through one wave and putting about 20 gallons of water off the boat.
Once we got past the surf we began to bail the water out of the boat and get ready to do some fishing. We stopped in about 20ft of water to catch bait. After about 12 Croakers were in the bucket we started to head out to deeper water.
On the way out, about 2 miles from the beach we saw our first turtle of the day which had a small Cobia trailing it. Before we could get a bait to the Cobia, the turtle dove and we didn't see it again. We found plenty of other turtles, but none holding fish. There was one strange turtle that didn't spook when we got near it. Instead, it kept following us so I grabbed the camera and took a few pictures of him.
Once we got to our spot it didn't take long to hook up. Mike got the first good Red, then I got one shortly after. There was plenty of action out there. We ended up catching 2 nice Reds, a bunch of Black Drum, and a few big Florida GTs (aka Jacks). There was a mystery fish we lost that hit one of the Croakers a 100mph and just wouldn't stop.
It was a good day on the water and we had some nice fish for dinner.

More Bull Shark Fun 4/04/15

Headed back out today. Didn't get as many fish, but did land two nice fish off one Bull.

Filefish checking out the flashers.

Davey stabbed a Filefish to invite home.

Taylor moving in on a few Cobia as I follow.

Taylor shot the biggest fish in the group.

Jayson helped him out with a kill shot.

I kept following the fish and picked off another one from that school and Davey put in the safety shot.

A couple shots of Taylor's fish.

Scott lifting Taylor's fish into the boat.

Quick picture of Taylor and me before we hopped back in.

Sharks, sharks, and more sharks.

Bull Sharks and Cobia 3/30

Haven't been diving in a while, and this was the day to get back out there. There was a big swell and 20mph winds from the north.
What made it even more fun is to spite how much time I spend on the water, I still get seasick. I spent the 2nd half of day puking and for the first time ever just couldn't shake it.
Here are some pictures from before that happened.
I will be editing this post; adding more pictures. Be sure to check back.

They're here....

I didn't make the group picture, I wasn't feeling too hot at the time.

It does get a bit messy.

Fishing Report 3/23

While driving to the boat ramp, I looked in my mirror and said, "that tire looks bad". Less than 3 minutes later it blew. Luckily we had a spare and Seabass power. We were back on the road in less than 10 minutes thanks to Seabass work-horseing it. The plan was to go look for Cobia, but due to the cloud cover, we changed up the game plan and hit up some bottom fishing in 65ft. We landed a few nice Drum and got broke off by some bigger fish that ate 5" live mullet. Even though we didn't catch anything great, it was still a fun day on the water.

Not the safest place to get a flat.

This was from last weekend when Alyssa got her first Cobia.

Fishing Report 3/15/15

Haven't been fishing in a while because we got a new boat we have been working on. Did make it out today and had some fun with some Cobia and Tripletail. The reports will be more frequent now that it is Spring time.

Fishing Report 1/10 (windy day)

I was going to go Tripletail fishing, but called it off at the last min because it was a bit too rough. That left me with a bunch of shrimp to use. So I headed to some docks in the river that were sheltered from the wind. Ended up getting 6 Trout in the 25" - 28" range and a smaller Mangrove. About halft of the trout were sight-casted to.

Fishing Report 1/06

Didn't get anything huge, but had a fun time in the little boat finding Tripletail on weeds.
