Fishing Report 10/30

We went out to do something a little different today and play with all the big boats and Redfish. It looked like Boca Grand out there, I counted 31 boats. It sure was a good way to start the day.

Nick hooked up on his first Red of the day.

Then I turned that into a double hook up.

We couldn't unhook this one in the water so we pulled it in the boat to unhook real fast.

Nick held up his fish then revived it and she swam off strong.

Then we landed mine.

Hooked up on another.

Almost ready.

Got the Red up to the boat.

While reviving her, I got a cool underwater shot.

Nick's on again and the Salty Roots crew is in the background.

I got one more before we had to leave to go to work.

Just making sure she is strong and ready to swim away.

Airin' out the bait.

Fishing Report 10/28

On Sunday we pulled the little boat off the beach and got the trailer back up and running. I haven't been out on the little boat in a while, so it felt good to get out there and pull in a stud Tripletail on it.

Fishing Report 10/13

Last night Davey and I went to the inlet and walked out on the north jetty. The only problem was that there was no bait on the north jetty. Instead of searching around for bait, I decided to play a game of scavenger. I found a dead mullet that was hard as a rock and tossed it out there. A few seconds later I scored a nice Redfish with a very lit up tail. I didn't measure him, but he looked a bit over slot and got to swim away.
We fished for a little bit longer using whatever we could find for bait and caught some Ladyfish then called it a night. We fished for about 30 minutes total.

Fishing Report 10/11 and 10/12

On Sunday we went out of Port Canaveral to see what we could find. We ended up having a lot of fun with schools of Bonito and Spanish Mackerel. We then went to a spot we like to frequent for Flounder and we weren't let down. Also managed a nice Tripletail off a floating bucket about 8 miles out.

We each had some fun with the Bonito.

Myself reaching to net a nice Tripletail.

Seems like this time of year is when lots of stuff washes up on the beach due to all the on-shore winds we get. On Saturday I walked down to the beach to Snook fish, but there was far too many weeds for it to be any fun. As I'm turning around to leave I notice something floating around in the surf. At first I thought it was a Manatee, then I realized it was a big ol' grouper (dead). Of course I had to get a picture with is and send it to some friends showing them what I "caught" on the beach that morning.
Then on Sunday a friend told me about a drug boat that washed up earlier in the day. I headed over to that beach to get some pictures of that. I would hate to be the people who were driving this boat because this thing was full of .50 Cal hols and had 2 250hp Yamahas on the back which were also shot out. By the time I got there a guy already had one motor off and taken away and was working on the second one. I forgot my camera at home this morning, so I'll update it with pictures later this evening.

Fishing Report 10/05

Went out Sunday (10/05). Caught about 10 slot Reds in the a.m. then went home to relax for the day. Headed back out in the evening where Josh decided it was his night and he was going to catch everything. Nice job dude.

Surfing mullet.

A South Floridian hooked up on a slob.

The sun set pic, of course, thanks to Davey.

And here are some pictures of Josh working some Reds.
