Cobia and a Bonus 8/08/15

We went out Cobia fishing and got some nice fish, but no huge ones.

Cobia at the boat.

I just got a Water Wolf camera and it captured a picture of a big Cobia that circled my bait for about a minute, but never ate it. There will be lots of pictures and videos to come with this little camera.

When the Cobia are close to that 33" mark, you're better off with the net than sticking it with the gaff. This one went for 33.5".

Luke with his fingers crossed. Hoping for a nice Cobia and not a shark.

On the way in we did a couple drifts in the inlet and it payed off.

This nice red thumped a Croaker on the first drift.

Night Time Muttons 8/6/15

We left the Inlet around 7:30 PM to go do some night time Snapper fishing. I'm new to this type of fishing and it quickly moved towards the top of my list of favorite types of fishing. We anchored up not long after the sun went down. It didn't take long before we started hooking up on fish. The bite was good all night, and while all five of us caught nice fish, Matt's Mutton put even the second biggest one (which was still a nice fish) to shame. We fished for a few hours and then had a smooth ride back into the inlet.

18 Muttons and 6 Mangroves.

Matt's big Mutton.

Sport your braid.

It'ill eat.
