Fishing Report 4/27/16

It was a very slow day of trolling. Seems that most of the Dolphin have worked their way North. After trolling from 120' to 250' and not getting a single knock-down we decided to pull in the lines and run to an Amber Jack spot to get on some action. It didn't take long. We caught a few A.J.s and one of them was tagged by FWC. I copied down the info and released the fish. We then picked up and headed deeper. We found some stuff floating and after catching a Dolphin off I hopped in and got some pictures of a very cool little Tripletail. We ended up taking home 3 Dolphin and an Amber Jack (not the tagged one).

Fishing Report 4/25/16

We ended up with 5 Dolphin 15 - 20lbs, one smaller one about 25", and lost a 20lb-ish Blackfin at the boat due to an error on my part. I let the line touch the trim tab and... SNAP. One of the Dolphin had a 1x1 foot piece of black plastic in its stomach. Be careful with your trash.















That plastic was inside that Dolphins stomach.

Fishing Report 4/23/16

There was a front moving through the night before and we knew it wasn't going to be calm until the afternoon, but figured we could handle a little rough seas in the morning. It was worth it. We got 12 nice Dolphin between the two of us. We got fish in 120ft - 220ft.

When you've got double hook-ups you have to just deal with it. :)

Fishing Report 4/20/16

Got a call from a friend last night inviting me to go out for a half day of fishing. We trolled early and got a few Dolphin in the boat, then we dropped some butterfly jigs down for some Amber Jack, then trolled a bit more. We had a couple of short-strikes and I pulled the hook on a nice fish, but we still went home with four nice Dolphin and two nice Amber Jack.

There were a bunch of boats out there and there were a bunch of fish. Once we got a fish close, I hopped in to get some nice video. Here are some stills from the video.
