Diving Report 7/31/16

We got some quality fish today. Scott shot a stud Cubera weighing 85lbs.

Me swimming up Scott's Cubera up after a couple more shots were added by myself and Nick.

Nick dragging the beast in.

I found myself a stud African Pompano.

Nick checking out a couple small Cobia on a Bull Shark.

Just trying to pick out the biggest one here.

Here is Alyssa holding up the big Cubera and a pile of the fish from the day. We ended up with an
85lb Cubera, 33lb Cubera, 35lb African Pompano, 26lb Cobia, 20lb Cobia, and a delicious 4lb Rainbow Runner.

Diving Report 7/26

We found the fish today. We did lost one Cobia to a shark, but landed the rest. It was an awesome day on the water. I even got my first Cobia with my Poseidon Polespear.

Diving Report 7/19/16

Hit up the reef again today and this time we scored some more nice Cobia, Kingfish, and some bonus Mangrove Snapper.

Saw this Bull a few times before he would get close enough to deliver this Cobia.

Scott got a solid Kingfish with the Poseidon Polespear.

Then Scott went on a  Mangrove Snapper spree.

Swimming through a Spadefish cloud.

Another big Mango.

While I was ascending from a dive I see Scott has spotted a Bull Shark with 3 Cobia on it, one of which was a stud.

I went down to put a 2nd shot in his fish and was pleasantly surprised that another one of the Cobia were still hanging around.

Scott was able to land the big boy.

Here we're posing with the fish before the ride home.

Fishing Report 7/17/16

I pulled up to the beach and saw a boat hooked up and tons of bait. So I quickly got to the water. It didn't take long for me to hook up.
Today I was trying out a new filming method for the first time which I found out about at iCast. It's called Action Hat. My buds at RCI Optics introduced me to the guy who owns the hat company and he was generous enough to give me one to try out on the SUP. I'm use to a learning curve with new products, but that wasn't the case here. I immediately liked the "Action Hat" much more than the normal GoPro head strap because this can easily be operated one handed (great for selfies :grin) and it floats. I'll include the link to his site so you can check them out more on your own.

Lift off in the count down county.

I'm going to catch this Tarpon but first, let me take a selfie.

More air time.

Gulping air.

Jump at SUP.

As I went to set my rod down so I could land the fish I bumped the lever into free-spool, I thought it was game over.

I was lucky though and the tarpon swam out the mess.

This is a 12' board and this fish was all of 6'.

Bust a 180.

Go for the grab and...

Battle over.

Diving Report 7/15/16

The up-welling is here, and so are the Cobes.

Lining up a shot on a Camo-Cobia.

Scott had his pick from many Cobia.

I wasn't far behind and was able to get another one from the same school.

Scott shot the King, I was just there to put in a kill-shot and pull him in.

Scott and myself with some of the days haul.

Mike with a nice Cobia.
